Your business really missed a great opportunity here. SAD. I hope you get just what you deserve. If nothing else, I hope you saw yourself and just how NASTY you look on air, and viewed by millions of people. Personally, I think it's the PERFECT SHOW(one man giving millions($1,000,000's) of dollars---aired on the PERFECT DAY(Sunday), at the PERFECT TIME(to witness you).
Wonderful shop. Great work and on time every time.
But by all means, if it helps feed your sense of superiority, boycott one of the few small independent businesses left that are contributing to Gary's tax base. I'm sure ABC and James Malinchak will be back on a regular basis with another $30K (which is what he donated in total during the episode, not millions, and is, btw, a fraction of what ABC generates in about 28 seconds of ad revenue during the show, even on--gasp--a perfect holy day like Sunday!) to help out.
I wouldn't put as much credence in a reality show edit as some folks here seem to. The woman these other commenters mention is an employee of the store, not the owner (which is why she couldn't donate the shop's money--surely these fine Christians aren't advocating that she steal?), and when they show her walking away? She's headed to the back of the shop to grab her purse and make a personal donation, which didn't make the final cut of the show.
Great place. . ! The ladies there are super nice.
Thanks,
Joyce is a great framer
I watched SECRET MILLIONAIRE that originally aired on 3/20/11. Mr. Malinchak(a Henderson, Nevada millionaire) was the millionaire visiting Gary Indiana. Awesome Show..SO Inspiring. But, I was totally shocked when I saw how RUDE a lady who works in THIS store was to the gentleman(COACH TONY) who had no job, but volunteered his time to help the kids in GARY INDIANA. It was the day the coach would go out and ask for donations from local businesses, in support of the BAYLOR YOUTH FOUNDATION. Well the Lake Street Gallery sure wasn't going to give, nor this RUDE woman with her nasty attitude who represented this business. Coach Tony asked this RUDE woman...if the business or herself personally would find it in their heart to help them(the foundation) with a donation. What was her reply on the show? This Rude woman says, "Well, I can't give you any money; it's not mine to give". She tells them this while she is walking away, leaving them standing there in this store. Nasty....Just NASTY. I will NEVER STEP A FOOT INTO YOUR BUSINESS. You are rude, nasty, and need to work on your business skills. In fact, if this part of this show is correct...your business does not deserve to be in business. Not because you didn't give; certainly you didn't have to. But, because you don't know how to treat people....PERIOD. Just to add a little more to this. Remember, you NEVER KNOW WHEN GOD IT OUT AND ABOUT DOING HIS BUSINESS. We have to HELP one another....be KINE to one another.
